About the Course
This course is particularly targeted at the beginning flyfisher, and covers such topics as basics of gear, how to assemble your gear, the basics of flycasting and various different casts, knots, entomology and fly selection, and catch and release. Time will be spent both in the classroom and on the water.Allan Kircher
Back in the mid 80’s I embarked on a guiding career when I could see the opportunities available working in tourism. Since then I have worked as a fishing and hunting guide, both on my own account, and as a contract guide for several top outfitting companies.
I am passionate about clear water sightfishing, in particular for trophy trout, as well as free range fair chase hunting.
The alpine regions of the South Island backcountry are my adventure playground. With the knowledge and experience gained from over 35 years of working and playing in the backcountry, rest assured that these flyfishing courses will be successful and memorable.
