About the Course
This course is for those fishermen who have some basic casting and fishing skills. Participants must have attended a previous Summer School Flyfishing Course or demonstrated some casting and fishing ability. Topics covered include more on Profile, Presentation and Control, some advanced casts, dealing with the wind, reading the water, sighting and stalking fish. As participants should have some good casting skills, more time will be spent on the water than in the classroom, learning how to find and target big trout.Allan Kircher
Back in the mid 80’s I embarked on a guiding career when I could see the opportunities available working in tourism. Since then I have worked as a fishing and hunting guide, both on my own account, and as a contract guide for several top outfitting companies.
I am passionate about clear water sightfishing, in particular for trophy trout, as well as free range fair chase hunting.
The alpine regions of the South Island backcountry are my adventure playground. With the knowledge and experience gained from over 35 years of working and playing in the backcountry, rest assured that these flyfishing courses will be successful and memorable.
