BASIC MAKE-UP TECHNIQUES

In this course, students will learn essential makeup techniques in a relaxed, hands-on session where they will learn the basics of makeup application, tips and techniques designed for beginners or for anyone wanting to refresh their skills.

It will cover eyeshadow application, contouring, blusher placement and corrective skin techniques.

Introducing Caron Shanks

Caron is a professional makeup artist based in Ashburton with over 30 years of experience in the beauty industry.

She began my career at age 19 training as a consultant for Shiseido, Elizabeth Arden, and Revlon at Unichem Life Pharmacy. She went on to become counter manager for Shiseido and worked in pharmacy until having her two daughters, Ella and Georgia.

Makeup has always been her passion - "it's not just about appearance, but about helping people feel confident, beautiful, and empowered".

Today she specialises in bridal makeup, special occasion makeup, and personal makeup lessons, offering a warm and professional experience tailored to each client.

She is also a proud facilitator for Look Good Feel Better, an charity that supports women undergoing cancer treatment by teaching beauty techniques to help them feel like themselves and deal with the physical challenges of cancer.
