BIND YOUR OWN JOURNAL

This one-day workshop will teach you the wonderful art of bookbinding. You will learn to prepare paper, sew and cover your very own 60-page A5 blank journal that you can use for drawing or writing or perhaps gifting to a friend.

Choose from an array of different book cloths to cover your own journal, with headbands to protect the spine.

Introducing Tessa Warburton

Tessa graduated from CPIT (now ARA) in 2000 with a Bachelor of Craft Art, majoring in Printmaking and Sculpture. She had previously studied and gained a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Psychology at Canterbury University in 1993, and also studied Bookbinding under Don Hampshire for five years in Christchurch.
From 2001 until 2018 she worked as a Limited Edition Printmaker for Marian Maguire at PaperGraphica (now PG Gallery 192). She has printed for many well-known artists, such as John Pule, Gretchen Albrecht, and Bill Hammond. During this time she was also working as a Bookbinder at home, and creating her own art works from paper, waste from bookbinding, and other materials.
Tessa teaches privately at home and out and about as a Bookbinder. She has recently been teaching drawing to a group of Home School students in Oxford.
She is involved with her local gallery as a volunteer, as well as with a group of Papermakers based at Oxford Gallery.
