CALLIGRAPHY WORKSHOP

In this one-day course, learn the beautiful art of calligraphy under the tutelage of the talented Jim Powell. You will dive into the art of beautiful writing, exploring the techniques and styles that have captivated people for centuries.

Whether you're a complete beginner, or looking to refine your skills, this workshop will provide you with the knowledge and hands-on practise needed to start creating stunning calligraphic pieces.

By the end of the day you will have mastered basic strokes, learnt how to use various tools, and created your very own piece of calligraphic art.

A list of required materials will be sent to students prior to the course.

Introducing Jim Powell

Jim learned calligraphy at high school as an art option and it became a lifelong interest. He was a teacher for more than thirty years and was frequently called upon to write certificates for prizes, competitions and greetings cards.

Jim has taught adult education classes, held workshops for art societies and produced genealogy commissions.
