MAKE A HINGED BOX

In this one day workshop, learn the art of box making. Make a hinged lid box. Choose from a selection of Japanese and decorative papers, and a bookcloth colour to match. The final box measures 190mm x 136mm x 50mm and makes a sturdy jewellery box, or somewhere to store your treasures.

Introducing Tessa Warburton

I graduated from CPIT (now ARA) in 2000 with a Bachelor of Craft Art, majoring in Printmaking and Sculpture. I had previously studied and gained a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Psychology at Canterbury University in 1993, and also studied Bookbinding under Don Hampshire for five years in Christchurch.
From 2001 until 2018 I worked as a Limited Edition Printmaker for Marian Maguire at PaperGraphica (now PG Gallery 192). I printed for many well-known artists, such as John Pule, Gretchen Albrecht, and Bill Hammond. During this time I was also working as a Bookbinder at home, and creating my own art works from paper, waste from bookbinding, and other materials. I teach privately at home and out and about as a Bookbinder. I have recently been teaching drawing to a group of Home School students here in Oxford. I am involved with our local gallery as a volunteer, as well as with a group of Papermakers based at Oxford Gallery.
