REPAIR A CHILDREN'S BOOK

Bring along a selection of your own children's books and learn a few simple skills for repairing them. This one-day class will focus on re-joining covers and some basic paper repairs.

We will discuss how to remove sellotape, how to resew and glue a book back into its cover and any other repairs we may not get to on the day.

Introducing Tessa Warburton

Tessa graduated from CPIT (now ARA) in 2000 with a Bachelor of Craft Art, majoring in Printmaking and Sculpture. She had previously studied and gained a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Psychology at Canterbury University in 1993, and also studied Bookbinding under Don Hampshire for five years in Christchurch.
From 2001 until 2018 she worked as a Limited Edition Printmaker for Marian Maguire at PaperGraphica (now PG Gallery 192). She has printed for many well-known artists, such as John Pule, Gretchen Albrecht, and Bill Hammond. During this time she was also working as a Bookbinder at home, and creating her own art works from paper, waste from bookbinding, and other materials.
Tessa teaches privately at home and out and about as a Bookbinder. She has recently been teaching drawing to a group of Home School students in Oxford.
She is involved with her local gallery as a volunteer, as well as with a group of Papermakers based at Oxford Gallery.
