SOAP MAKING
This course will run through all the steps for creating soap from scratch. It will include the safety aspect and all the equipment needed to make soap at home.
In this class we will make:
Cold process soap
Lip balm
Melt & pour soap
Bring: Each student will need to bring a silicon loaf tin
Wear: Comfortable clothes and clothes you don’t mind getting something spilt on!

My name is Amanda Johnson and I am a full time soap and candle maker. I have been making soaps and candles for about 19 years. My passion is making artisan soap and beautiful candles, which I started making as gifts. I continue to learn more every time I make them as there are so many varieties and styles, it's endless.
Amanda lives in Ashburton and has businesses called ‘Tiny Farm Candles and Soaps' and also the ‘Waterford Soap Co.’ She sells at markets and has several retail outlets. You may have come across her products around the Canterbury region.
