SOAP MAKING with Mandy Johnson

SOAP MAKING

This course will run through all the steps for creating soap from scratch. It will include the safety aspect and all the equipment needed to make soap at home.

In this class we will make:

• Cold process soap
• Lip balm
• Melt & pour soap

Bring: Each student will need to bring a silicon loaf tin

Wear: Comfortable clothes and clothes you don’t mind getting something spilt on!

Introducing Amanda (Mandy) Johnson

Amanda is a full time soap and candle maker. She has been making soaps and candles for about 19 years. Her passion is making artisan soap and beautiful candles, which she started making as gifts. She continues to learn more every time she makes them as there are so many varieties and styles, it's endless.

Based in Ashburton, Amanda has a businesses called ‘Tiny Farm Candles and Soaps' and also the ‘Waterford Soap Co.’ She sells at markets and has several retail outlets. You may have come across her products around the Canterbury region.
