SUSHI MAKING

Sushi is one of Japan’s most iconic and beloved foods, and over the years it has become increasingly popular here in New Zealand. In this course, you’ll learn how to make delicious sushi at home using simple techniques and fresh ingredients.

Whether you’re a complete beginner or have made sushi before, we’ll guide you through each step in a relaxed and friendly environment. By the end of the course, you’ll have the confidence to prepare sushi for your family and friends at home.

Introducing Mayumi Kaneko Jones and Nanae Perry

Mayumi was born and raised in Japan and has been living in New Zealand for about 10 years. Wanting to help introduce Japanese culture to kiwi people, she joined St Pierre’s, one of New Zealand’s largest sushi chains, two years ago.

Since then she's been making sushi every day. She is excited to share the deliciousness and uniqueness of sushi with you and hope you’ll enjoy learning more about this special part of Japanese culture.

Nanae was born and raised in Japan, where sushi is an important part of the food culture. Since moving to New Zealand, Nanae has had many opportunities to prepare sushi for family, friends, and the local community. Seeing how much people enjoy it made her realise the joy of sharing Japanese food with others.

She is excited to share a taste of my home country and teach students how to make sushi that can be easily recreated at home. She look forward to making sushi together and sharing this special part of Japanese culture with students

"We look forward to sharing a little of Japanese food culture with you and providing personalised support to each participant throughout the class."
