Do you have a favourite garment to bring to the course that needs upsizing, mending, or reimagining? A half-finished project tucked away for "someday"? Or maybe you'd love to make a pattern from your favourite T-shirt but don't know where to start?
Join Mel for a two-day sewing intensive, where you'll get expert guidance in a relaxed and fun environment.
With decades of experience as a designer and tailoress, Mel brings a sharp eye for design, great teaching skills, and a down-to-earth approach to help you take your sewing to the next level. Whether you're looking to repair, create, or adapt, this is your space to learn, explore, and finish that thing you've been meaning to do.
Included:
- An individual online planning session with Mel before the course
- Help with selecting a suitable project and working out materials
- Personalised support throughout the two days
- A creative, supportive environment where you'll build skills and confidence
- Bring your ideas — and leave with something you've made!
Please note this course is not suitable for absolute beginners.

Introducing Melissa Knight
Melissa's experience comes from decades of sewing and designing in the fashion industry. She has worked with Couture Bridal Studios, founded her own fashion and snow-wear brands and designed 100-piece collections.
Her design and skills have been nationally recognised. She won the Brands Award at the Modus Operandi and was finalist in The Cult Couture.
As a co-founder of Mel & Zoe's Alteration and Design Studio in Redcliffs, she ran a popular sewing school, empowering students to develop their skills and confidence through design.
She is known for her creativity, her designers eye and her warm and supportive teaching style. She looks forward to a fun two days of sharing and making!
